Have you received your Spring 2014 copy of ATA World Magazine? Did you read about Mr. Russ?! From page 32:
"For Fields, a Class C competitor with the U.S. Practical Shooting Association, the mind-body link is everything.
"If a shooter is a fraction of an inch off, especially a shooter who is moving and firing as much as Fields does in competition, it can have a tremendous impact on a score. The slightest flinch, just a minuscule, momentary letdown, means no bullseye.

In Taekwondo, the pine tree and rock symbolize your path from a small seedling into a mighty giant: a huge pine tree firmly planted in a foundation of solid granite.
But you can take it a step further. To me, the rock and pine tree also represent the essence of integrity, our life skill of the month. The pine tree symbolizes YOU. As you learn and grow, so does the pine tree. The rock, on the other hand, symbolizes your foundation. And in my view, for a life of leadership, the best foundation is one of personal integrity. And like a building, without a solid foundation you simply can’t rise to great heights or achieve your true potential. That’s why integrity is such a coveted value in the martial arts. So let’s take a closer look at integrity and discover how you can forge your own personal integrity and make it work for you.

According to legend, a young boy approached the great Renaissance artist Michelangelo and asked him why he was working so hard chiseling a huge block of marble. Michelangelo stopped his work and turned to the boy. "Young man, there is an angel inside this rock, and I am setting him free."
The young boy quickly realized the wisdom of the great artist’s words. If he kept at it long enough, the block of granite could, indeed, become a beautiful sculpture. It was a just a matter of time and perseverance. And indeed, it did. That simple block of rock eventually became Michelangelo’s greatest sculpture, David.
